| Brafasco
In 1966 Brampton Fastener Co. Limited, or Brafasco, as it became known, was formed by the partnership of Ken Dann and John Peel. Opening a 1,500 square foot office In 1987 Brafasco purchased an industrial supplier in the Orangeville area, which became its first branch location. Additional branches were then opened in Newmarket and Barrie. In addition, product lines were broadened to include industrial supplies such as cutting tools, concrete anchors, chain and fittings, adhesives, lubricants, and abrasives. Twelve more branches have since opened, in Peterborough, Bolton, Concord, Orillia, Belleville, Kingston, Scarborough, Mississauga, Burlington, Etobicoke, Cambridge, and Lindsay to bring the total number to 16. Each one of these branches has experienced such growth that they have all moved to larger, brighter, and more modern facilities to maintain the level of service for which Brafasco customers have become accustomed.
By 1999 Brafasco had a total of 180,000 square feet of warehouses and offices. Ken Dann and John Peel are still the owners of Brafasco. Together with managers Bob Peel and Brian Wood and an enthusiastic staff of 125, they look forward to the opening of more Brafasco locations in Ontario, and an opportunity to supply even more customers in the Canadian fastener industry. |
