(9625 bytes)The Credit Valley Hospital is a modern, dynamic community hospital providing leadership in the delivery of primary, secondary, and tertiary health care services to the people of Mississauga, Ontario and the surrounding region.

Since opening in 1985, the Hospital has earned an international reputation for combining the latest in technology with the utmost in professional and compassionate care.

The hospital's vision is "to be the finest hospital in Canada in the hearts and minds of the people we serve." The Credit Valley Hospital operates approximately 300 inpatient beds in the existing 440,000 square foot acute care facility. The hospital provides a broad spectrum of clinical services involving ten programs: general medicine, surgery, renal, oncology, emergency, mental health, continuing care/rehabilitation, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and cardiac services and a network of support departments. The professional staff provides a regional service for medical genetics and renal dialysis.

image2small.jpg (11467 bytes)In response to the Health Services Restructuring Commission (HSRC) Directives, the hospital will provide a new regional perinatal/paediatric service, and oncology radiation therapy services through the Peel Regional Cancer Centre.

In 1998/99 The Credit Valley Hospital treated more than 233,000 outpatients through a myriad of ambulatory clinics (i.e. fracture clinic, breast clinic) and outpatient departments (i.e. physiotherapy, diabetic education). The hospital’s current human resources include 216 active/associate physicians, 1,213 fulltime equivalent (FTEs) staff and over 599 volunteers.

The Credit Valley Hospital has earned the reputation as the most computerized health care facility in Canada and a leader in health care in North America. The hospital's culture facilitates and promotes innovation.
