Hewlett-Packard (Canada) Ltd.

logo.gif (1565 bytes)Hewlett-Packard (Canada) Ltd., was established in Montreal in 1961, and has more than 1,300 employees at 21 locations across the country. In addition, HP Canada has an extensive network of dealers and authorized service personnel who help to ensure customer satisfaction throughout Canada. Its revenue in fiscal 1999 was (CDN) $1.9 billion.

HP Canada is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard Company -- a leading global provider of computing and imaging solutions and services for business and home.

Hewlett-Packard was founded by two young engineers -- Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard - who met at nearby Stanford University. They started the business in a residential single-car garage in Palo Alto, California. From that humble beginning, Bill and Dave sparked an industry, initiated Silicon Valley and have seen HP grow to become a global enterprise operating in more than 120 countries. Today, HP has 83,200 employees worldwide and had total revenue from continuing operations of (U.S.) $42.4 billion in its 1999 fiscal year.

Over the years, HP has reinvented itself to remain competitive, seize new market opportunities and deliver the best possible products and services to its customers. Today, HP is reinventing itself once again, this time to focus on the opportunities abounding through the Internet and the proliferation of electronic services, and to strengthen its position as a digital imaging company. Essentially, HP is returning to its roots - the early spirit of inventiveness - and is preserving the best and reinventing the rest to improve the overall experience the customer has with HP.
