Lark Group and Companies

logo.gif (9625 bytes)A diversified property developer, manager and construction concern, The Lark Group was founded in 1972 by Larry and Joy Fisher.

Although the Lark Group's initial corporate goal was centred on mobile home parks, the focus soon shifted to industrial and commercial development. Property was purchased along the King George Highway with a Joint Venture Partner, and a 20-acre industrial park was developed.

Over the years, the Fishers oversaw the company in its growth to an 11,000 square foot office complex in Cloverdale with over 100 employees. The Group currently engages in more than $20 million annually in construction and manages in excess of one-half million square feet of property.

As a family-orientated business, the children, Laura and Kirk, grew up with the company, and upon graduation from university rejoined the family business. Laura now manages the property holdings and sales/leasing areas, while Kirk oversees the construction projects and is very active in assessing the viability of new ventures. Withstanding the devastating loss of cofounder Joy Fisher in 1992 due to cancer, the company carried forward.

In recent years, the Lark Group has become quite diversified. It has joint ventured into an 85 room Ramada Limited Hotel, a Pub and Beer Store in Langley, and a restaurant and antique mall in Cloverdale. Furthermore, in 1997 the Lark Team undertook the $20 million dollar award winning Clover Square Village Shopping Centre, with Lark being the developer, contractor and owner. In 1998, Lark built and retained ownership of twin hockey rinks in Kirkland, Quebec and Surrey, British Columbia. The construction division of Lark is currently building a $10 million dollar Holiday Inn in North Vancouver.

Over the past 27 years, Lark has developed a reputation for talent, energy, and professionalism. They get the job done on time and within budget whatever the circumstances and always ensure top quality development and construction. Larry Fisher and his team are proud of their accomplishments to date, and look forward to the interesting challenges ahead.
